Why Lakeshore – A Place to Grow, Contribute, and Connect

We lead with our values: Professionalism, Ownership, Team, Quality, and Positivity, and we live them daily. Whether it’s launching a new kids camp, stepping in to assist a family at the front desk, or recognizing a trainer’s impact, we show up with care and high standards. Our facilities are impressive, but it’s our team culture and commitment to a seamless member experience that make this a truly special place to work and grow.

About the Role

We’re looking for an energetic, skilled Tennis Professional to join our racquet sports team. You’ll teach players of all ages and levels, from juniors picking up a racquet for the first time to competitive adults sharpening their game, through private lessons, clinics, classes, and group programs. With an engaged membership and a thriving racquets community, Lakeshore is a great place to build your book and grow as a coach.

This role is ideal for a tennis professional who loves teaching, connecting with players, and creating a fun, high-quality on-court experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Teach private and semi-private lessons to juniors and adults of all skill levels
  • Lead group clinics, classes, and junior and adult programs
  • Build lesson plans and drills that develop technique, strategy, and match play
  • Grow your client base by connecting with members and being a visible presence at the club
  • Support leagues, round robins, tournaments, socials, and special events
  • Help members find the right lessons and programs for their goals
  • Work with the racquet sports team on scheduling, programming, and member experience
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and professional court environment

What You Bring

  • Strong tennis playing and teaching background
  • USPTA or PTR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience teaching juniors and adults across a range of levels
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills, with patience and energy on court
  • A professional, member-first approach and a strong sense of ownership
  • Availability that includes early mornings, evenings, and weekends based on member demand
  • Current CPR/AED certification preferred

Pay & Benefits

Pay: $20 – $45 per lesson, class, or group session, based on experience and certification. Tennis professionals are paid commission for each lesson, class, and group session they teach.

Full-time team members:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Short- and long-term disability insurance
  • Voluntary life insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • Complimentary family membership, childcare for team members’ children, and 50% off club services

Part-time team members:

  • 401(k) (eligibility requirements apply)
  • Paid leave under the Chicago Paid Leave Ordinance
  • Complimentary club membership, childcare for team members’ children, and 50% off club services

The pay range above reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Final pay is based on each candidate’s experience, qualifications, and fit for the role. If you’re interested but this role doesn’t line up perfectly with what you’re looking for, we encourage you to apply. We’re always happy to start a conversation.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
